Ledaig 17yo (Batch 7) / That Boutiquey Whisky Company
1 of 383 numbered bottles
Peated single malt from Tobermory distillery on Isle of Mull, bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company.
Nose:Driftwood, roasted barley, cooked apple and sugary pastry.
Palate:Salted butter, seaweed, brown sugar, smoke, lemon zest and fizzy strawberry laces.
Finish:Earthy smoke lasts for minutes afterwards.
Smells like all the nice smokey things- smokey bacon, wood burner smoke, smoked ham, smoked applewood cheese.
Tastes like marizpan and almonds with a surprising initial sweetness followed by the big smokey hit.
Finish: Savoury and long with minty smokiness to finish.
Our thoughts: Wonderful bacon smokiness. In a really good way, it's a bit like licking a freshly creosoted fence but with splinters removed.
